Hi For Love of Cupcake readers!  I'm really excited to be on Amanda's blog, as she was one of the first blogging friends I've made.

My name is Katie and I started my blog as a way to share my outfits with my sister Lauren and sister in law Lauren (hence the name for Lauren and Lauren). Which is kind of ironic because in high school I wore soccer shorts or sweatpants daily.  Fortunately for you I didn't document my fashion back in the day.

To be honest I thought that my sisters, along with my mom, would be the only ones who would read my blog.  I had no idea the kind of friends I would make, the blessings that would come from blogging, or the way too many hours I would spend on my computer.

But I love it.

I love sharing my ability to find cheap clothes and kind of wish it was my job.  That and I've always wished I was a backup dancer for a rapper or one of those Fanta girls.
But instead I am a third grade teacher.  Which I do like. Most of the time.

I love sharing the different projects I've made, like these infinity scarves or heart sweater.

I also occasionally make fun of my husband with either his constant annoying noises, or his lack of knowledge about anything fashion related.

And then of course sharing my love for sweets, clearance racks, and my complete obsession with Target.  (But is there any woman who is not addicted to Target?)

Plus I also have gotten pretty personal on my blog as I started sharing about my husband and I's journey through infertility.  It was scary at first but the support and blessings that have come from it have been far worth it.

And as cheesy as it sounds my favorite thing about blogging has been meeting people and making friends.  Something that I had no idea existed in the blogging world.

Guest posting is awkward. Which is unfortunate, because I have just the best pair of pants for a first date. They're sure to be a winner. I mean they have an elasticized waist that allows me to eat anything and they turn into MC Hammer pants when I tie them up to ride my bike.

Did I mention they're elasticized?

Plus, we wouldn't have to pay for anything 'cause I moonlight as a pirate so I'd just rob the place. Or, alternatively, I could be the night's entertainment as I impersonate Axl Rose.

Who wouldn't want to date me right? I have the sexiest, most revealing date clothes ever...

...And I come ready made with my very own side-kick!

What? Still no takers? Oh fine. I guess it's a good thing I'm already married, 'cause I'm clearly a pro at this dating thing.

1.) Don't Wear White After Labor Day - summer is over, put it away until next year.

Hello cupcake lovers!I'm Kay, I blog over at Life After...

I am a new wife to my husby John.We have a crazy whirlwind love story, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

We are no strangers to the hard work that goes into marriage.He is my best friend, and we try to have LOTS of fun together always!

I'm also a new MAMA. Jack (better known as Da Bubba) is the light of my life.This child is TOO MUCH.We love him long time over in these parts! 

My current job title reads: Stay at home mom - GASP! At 23 no less!Safe to say, making mom friends is like - impossible.Thank God for blog friends :) & liking your family a lot helps too!

I am far from Martha Stewartand the word "super" hardly comes to mind when I think about my parenting title.But I do sometimes try to do hip mama stuff like make my own baby food & cloth diaper 75% 65% of the time...

I may be considered a "mommy blogger"But I'm also a 20 something blogger & newlywed blogger.We have good days...bad days.& everything in between. I'm returning to school in the fall for my Master's in Social Work.Basically it's about to become a new kind of crazy.

Motivate Me Monday: The Color Run!

Hey everyone!

I'm Elise, the girl behind the blog "That's comma with a K"! 

I'm so excited to be a guest today and to be taking over this amazing little blog that Amanda has going! I've been reading...okay blog-stalking, her for months [guilty as charged!] so to actually be apart of it all is pretty awesome!

A little bit about me:

I'm a wifey to an engineer by day, rancher by night and a stay at home mommy to one stinkin' adorable little boy who keeps me going all day long!! I choose to blog in sweats... during nap time, instead of taking a nap myself, cleaning, getting ready for the day, or coming close to folding the laundry! I love the color red, I'm a little obsessed with music, I have a twin brother, and yes, I have big hair, and yes, these are my real eyelashes! I blog about real life things, adventures, and this crazy little journey I'm on, without holding anything back!

I DiD, I DiD!

3.1 miles of color madness to be exact!

I should preference this post and say [as I've said many times before] I am a complete

wanna-be runner. I don't think I have ever ran more than a mile, at one time, for fun, before. ever.

But after having my son, and wanting to get rid of the baby weight once and for all, I felt like I needed something to switch up my work-outs even more. So I signed up for my very first 5k back in February,trained my little heart out for the past few months, read Motivate Me Mondays- every.single. week, and was finally about to run and finish my first 5k in Denver!

For those of you who haven't heard about The Color Run, here's the shortest version of what this race is all about....It's known as the happiest 5k on the planet [because it truly is]...all of the proceeds go to charity, & at every kilometer there is a "color station" that you run through and get "colored" [see below]!

Here we are. so fresh. so clean, before the race!

I don't think I've had this much fun while running in...forever. I think I finally understand the phrase "working out can be fun!"
Every single one of you should probably just do yourself a favor and sign up for a Color Run near you! I've had so many people email me about the race, about my experience, and asking questions, so here's some pointers [you know, since I'm pretty much pro now!]
-wear sunglasses [not your $500 shades, more like the $3.50 sunglasses at Walmart]!
-bring a bandana to cover your mouth from the color dust!
-Your hair will be a rainbow of colors once you are done running, so plan the next few days accordingly!
-When your child freaks out because he doesn't recognize you after your race, don't get sad...be happy that you are that colorful!
-Don't be alarmed if you blow your nose afterwards and you have purple and turquoise snot!
-Be prepared for the best morning of your life!



 I just signed up for another Color Run back in my home state of Idaho...
I just can't get enough!

Have you ever been out all day & then the day continues into the night but you're still wearing your day time clothes with nothing to change into to make the outfit a little more night time appropriate? Well today I am going to show you 3 simple outfits that can go from day to night with a few quick changes....& since this is a weekly subject on my blog & i like to show you that I actually do embrace the mess. In these pictures I am on day 5 of no washing or even brushing my hair.....

So here we have a typical day time outfit...destroyed jeans, flip flops & a white tank...pretty plain Jane, yet one of my favorite outfits to wear....perfect for a day at the mall or a walk on the beach....so let's take this simple day time outfit & give it a night time feel...

 Still wearing the exact same jeans & tank top all I did to spice the outfit up was add a black blazer, some heels & a clutch...perfect for a date night....just a few certain items can change the whole dynamic of an outfit...plus I feel adding black to anything will dress it up

This dress is defiantly more of a dressier look but I toned it down with some flat sandals & added a jean jacket...the dress is a little short so adding the leggings also tones it down...but lets dress it up by taking away a few things....

 So I lost the jacket & the leggings so the dress will be a short mini again, added some short boots, a Chanel crossover....& you're ready for a night out on the town.

Another casual outfit, very simple....hair up, jeans, a tank, & some canvas shoes...nothing to flashy, but perfect for a day of running errands....also if you currently don't own a pair of TOMS please invest in a pair asap...they are SO comfortable & light weight, you will never want to take them off. Plus when you buy a pair they give a pair of shoes to a child in need..... so here we go again day to night...

Still wearing the exact same jeans & tank all I did was take my hair down & pulled the front back. I added a statement necklace & some bangles. Some high black boots & a Patent Leather purse for some extra shine.....& you're ready for a night out at a concert or dinner with friends.

As you can see I wear the same white tank top with everything. Never underestimate the power of a white tank. Again, nothing much was really changed with any of these outfits, I didn't have to take anything off to make it more night appropriate...with just a few accessory changes you can literally change anything from day to night. But always remember less is more. I hope these quick day to night changes will help you with your outfits & inspire you to change up your day time looks.
