We went to our Cake Tasting on Saturday!!!
It really was so fun!
My baby sis Jess, my mom and Eric's mom met us there to help!
Chef Drew was so helpful and all of the cakes were very moist!
E chose Red Velvet for his Grooms Cake! That was a no brainer!
And I chose Vanilla with Vanilla Cream for the wedding cake!

That cake looks so good- and the pic of your wedding cake SO PRETTTY!!! We had a 3 layer cake white chocolate with raspberry filling, chocolate ganache, and red velvet- I only got one bite of my wedding cake :(

Your cake is going to be amazing- I cannot wait to see pictures! I am a freak about cake, especially good cake! We had a 3 tier cake with vanilla sponge cake, bavarian cream & fresh strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. We saved a slice but are planning on getting a small cake for our anniversary- the pastry chef at work made it :-)

ReplyDeleteYou guys are too cute! I loved when we did our cake tasting. It was probably the most fun part of all the planning! The groom's cake was chocolate and then we had two flavors for the wedding cake, lemon with raspberry filling, and then vanilla cake with strawberry. It was amazing!

ReplyDeletePretty sure cake tasting was one of my favorite parts:) At first I wanted cupcakes...so bad...but when at the pastry shop we were ordering from, they mentioned doing a cake table...which I kind of loved. We were able to pick a number of flavors (boston creme, strawberry, mocha). With all the cakes- they decorated them in a fall theme. One had leaves all over, they made one into a log with our initials "carved" into it, one was shaped into a basket with leaves in it. Pretty neat what they can do with some eggs, flour and sugar;)

Looks so yummy and fun! I love all kinds of cake flavors, but I think I'd do something like marble swirl so that way it'd be pleasing to a lot of people! Red velvet is my fave, so Eric did a good choice :)
ReplyDeleteWe had 3 different flavors for our wedding cake but my favorite was the carmel swirl! :) I checked out what your wedding cake is going to look like... Mine was made to look just like the one your chose! If you want to see pictures just let me know!
ReplyDeleteCake testing was my favorite part. My husband probably enjoyed it more than me. We ended up going with strawberry cake with buttercream icing for my cake but since a lot of people don't like strawberry we had mini cupcakes in lemon, sea salt caramel mocha, vanilla, cookies and cream, and chocolate. So we could have a little bit for everyone. =)
ReplyDeletesooo fun!! we had somewhat traditional flavors... mainly because wedding cake is one of my favorite things, ever... and my hubs LOVES devils food/chocolate. but i love something fruity, like a strawberry or lemon!
