Oh skinny jeans...it's a love/hate.

I am seriously jealous of everyone wearing skinny jeans!!
I have tried on numerous amounts from different stores and have yet to find a pair! I should really take a photo of myself in them...because I look ridiculous!

It's most definitely the way I'm built.
I have a muscular build.

It has to be! Next time I try on a pair...I will take a photo!
I have tried on sizes too big...sizes too small...sizes that should fit but don't!

It just doesn't look right!
Sometimes...I feel like they are spandex?

Does anyone else have this stinkin' problem?
Or am I just a crazy person?!

I need to find a pair that is tapered just right...a pair that is skinny but not too skinny...ya feel me?
Here are some looks I wish I could wear!

Sooooo...help a girl out!

If you have skinny jeans...
what brand do you like?!

(maybe I should have Katie alter some jeans of mine!)

  2. I hated skinny jeans too because I could never find a pair that I liked. I still have a muscular build from when I used to play sports all the time, so the skinny jeans I tried on were way too tiny around my calves. However, I found a pair that I love. They're by Gap. They're the 1969 Demin style and they actually fit real nicely! Hope that helps! LOFT had a cute pair too but I didn't like them as much as my Gap pair!

  3. I had a Levi pair that I wore for about 5-6 years, but they now are so worn that they have holes :( I have other pairs, but I don't know the brand. I would look for skinny jeans that feel like jeans. There are some out there that call themselves skinny jeans, but really make me think of jeggings based on the material and how it feels. Those kind remind me of spandex.

  4. seriously? making me day two days in a row?? : ) and I feel you with skinny jeans too. most are way too tight in my "muscular" thighs and calves. have you looked at kohls in the woman's section? I realized soon that I can't find skinny jeans in the juniors unless I want to be wearing spandex. And I would love to alter your pants (although I'm no expert). You just need to come to my house!

  5. Sadly I am not going to be any help here!!! I have an uber long torso and short little curvy legs, and so skinny jeans look unnecessarily hilarious on me. I hope you get to find a nice pair before summer hits!

  6. You aren't the only one! I have that same problem! I only own two pairs and I've worn them completely out because I couldn't find any others that worked! If you find a good brand, let me know (:

  7. I feel your pain! I've got a very curvy bottom, so I always feel that skinny jeans just emphasize how huge my hips are! I found a pair at LOFT that I love... I don't know if they have colored ones or not.

  8. I looove skinny jeans too! Especially with flats. But I feel you, I'm not always confident wearing them :/

  9. i have the same problem but its not because i'm muscular, its because i'm short. so skinny jeans look more or less like really oddly tapered jeans on me.

the brands that i find work best are 7's, j brand's, and paige's. the only thing with that is that they are all over 100 a pop and i can't justify spending that much on skinny jeans sometimes.

but they have great deals at nordstrom rack most the time!

  10. I have a muscular build as well & am thinking of trying ankle length straight legs...instead of skin tight skinnies. I Have too big of butt for most pairs, and the squats are only making it bigger, haha. I always have good luck with Gap- and they're reasonably priced!

  11. I always get my skinnies at target! I have to go up a size though because they are sooo skinny and I am not! Lol

  12. see, i really want to buy a pair of skinnies in every color of the rainbow (as opposed to the dark denim ones i have now)but with my luck, once i invest that much $$ in them, i'll wake up the next day and the fashion police will be like "trend over!".

  13. Sadly, I have an itty-bitty waist but below it? Not so itty-bitty, hence why I don't attempt to even try on skinny jeans and just wear regular jeans or tactical pants :P

  14. Ive had a hard time finding color skinnies I like....

  15. I hate them too.

  16. the girl in the yellow pants she looks like she has normal legs no toothpicks and definitely she is more of my built. i have tried to accept it some days i can some days i can't but then i go for a run and thankful for the legs that carried for the many miles

  17. URG seriously, I have been going through the SAME issue. I actually was going to stop by the mall today to (again) try to find a pair that actually look good on me. I have been blaming it on my dancer/gymnast legs and ALMOST have it chalked up to the fact that I will never look good in these unless I have stick legs. But I am still gonna keep trying a little longer... I just love them so much! Stupid legs.....

  18. I have the same problem. I want colored skinnies SO FREAKIN' BAD but they make me look like I have thunder thighs from hell. I'm so envious seeing these lucky girls who are able to pull off the skinny jeans look.

  19. let me help! i have heard this problem so many time when i was working at nordstrom! first off my favorite are J Brand. theyre just amazing. but if your looking cheaper go abercrombie or hollister (yes they have fab ones) heres the key, they actually do need to be tight when you try them. not to tight where you cant even button them but tight bc trust me THEY WILL STRETCH and skinny jeans are suppose to be tight. So make sure theyre tight when you try them on. i promise they will get the perfect amouth of looseness. with the colored skinnys the key is dressing around the skinnys. always pair a light color shirt with colored pants. another brand i love are hudsons! i hope that helped a little!

  20. i love the neon jeans look - so hot right now! i have some skinny jeans from NY&Co. and they fit pretty well (i'm a yoga teacher, so i have muscular legs and a butt, too - so i'm guessing they would fit your body-type, too)

    cheers!

  22. The only pair I have and actually like are from NY&Co. They fit perfectly. I hate shopping for jeans really, it's frustrating! Good luck girl.

  23. I'm curvy AND short, which makes it difficult to wear any style. But man, do I love me some skinny jeans. I always cuff them up, with some flats, and a flowy shirt. My go-to outfit! My favorite so far have been the American Eagle jeggings. I'm not usually an AE fan, and I most often wear Fossil jeans, but I love love their jeggings cause they are still thick enough to be jeans, but stretchy enough to stay tight without killing you. So try AE or even Ann Taylor Loft. Good quality stuff :)

  24. I love AE or Old Navy skinny jeans. Both stores have them in cute, bright colors. Good luck on your search! Whatever you try on, feel confident and rock 'em! :)

  25. Lady, you've got to try The Limited's selection of skinny jeans - several different washes with several different lengths AND cuts (for the thigh/butt/hip area). I LOVE mine!

    Good luck :)
