Procrastination...Wedding Style...(plus a winner!)

Ok ladies...I started this post thinking that we have been procrastinating on our wedding planning. But according to The Knot...we are right on schedule!

Well...in a way we have...because we got engaged in August!

We booked our venue {HERE} within just a few weeks!

Everything is kind of included so we just need to make appointments to visit with the vendors.

In May...I plan to...

Visit with the Baker (I like ruffles!)...

Visit with the Florist
(haven't picked out our flowers yet but want something similar)...

Remember the David's Bridal fiasco {HERE}.
Well we went back and tried on tons of dresses again.

I originally did not want strapless or chiffon but that's what looked best on everyone!

I chose the one on the far left but it will be in gray! (I almost changed my colors to coral because I seriously love the color of these dresses!)

I also need to pick out my wedding shoes and jewelry!
My dress arrives in May!
(I ordered it in November and actually chose the very first dress I tried on...if you want to know what style I'm wearing just email me! Eric doesn't want to know ANYTHING!)

Where did you shop for wedding shoes and jewelry at?
And what little things should I not forget to do?!?!

  1. LOVE the bridesmaid dress you chose! I just got my bridesmaid shoes at dsw and they actually had a lot of cute shoes that a bride could wear too - they had a wedding section. happy weekend amanda!!

  5. Love the dresses- I used David's bridal for almost every thing, my dress included. I wanted my shoes to be green and they had a great pair that you can get in almost all of their colors..they were super comfy & affordable! For jewelry I went with pearls that my husband gave to me a few years ago...I'm a big believer in less is more for wedding jewelry, but found some great stuff on etsy- I used Gosia Meyer for the bridesmaids necklaces, she has great stuff in her store!

  7. i had all my gals get shoes from DSW online...they were not super expensive and had free shipping. They also have a great selection of bridal and bridesmail shoes too. I looked for a long time on etsy for wedding jewelryformy bridesmaids and myself....there were sooo many shops that had great options. I ended up finding this great place in Louisville (where the wedding is) called Afterglow that designed all my bridesmaid jewelry, my jewelry, and my hair combs. It was so inexpensive I almost died and everything is beautiful. They used swarovski crystals, pearls, and (fake) pave diamonds, so i could pick just about any color i wanted that fit in with the wedding. So many etsy shops do the same thing!

Good luck with the florist and the cake!

  8. i loveee the ruffles on the cake!

i had a similar case happen with davids bridal. i wanted gray bridesmaid dresses, but they forgot to tell me it was a special order color and took 12 weeks to get in instead of their regular turn over time. so two of my bridesmaids called in 11.5 weeks til my wedding and i had to change the dress completely. it was so frustrating.

i got my shoes and earrings from dillards.

what is your wedding date? i seriously miss wedding planning!

  11. Love that cake! I had my bridesmaids wear grey too. So classic. I got my shoes from dsw too. I wore flats because I didn't want to be taller than my husband and I didn't want my feet to hurt. I kept my jewelry simple with small dangly earrings and a simple bracelet my mother in law gave me the morning of our wedding. Good luck with the remaining wedding tasks!!!
